About the Employer<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 We are a large company that carries out Plumbing work on New Build properties for builders such as Berkley, Taylor Wimpey, Bellways and Pye Homes. We also have a maintenance and servicing team and Apprentices will spend some time working with both departments.<\/p>\n

What you\u2019ll do at work<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • Plumbing, Heating, Renewable Energy<\/li>\n
  • General plumbing repairs & maintenance<\/li>\n
  • Central heating servicing & installation<\/li>\n
  • Boiler servicing & installation<\/li>\n
  • Bathrooms & kitchen installation<\/li>\n
  • Assist skilled plumbers in various plumbing tasks learning from their experience<\/li>\n
  • Planning, selecting, sizing, preparatory work, installation, testing and commissioning, fault finding, diagnostics, rectification, routine service and maintenance, decommission etc.<\/li>\n
  • Select the required materials to carry out the work<\/li>\n
  • Precision measuring, marking, cutting, and installing components<\/li>\n
  • Learn the process of understanding and interpreting technical drawings and work in accordance with specifications<\/li>\n
  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed<\/li>\n
  • Plan and carry out work to the required standards of quality and speed<\/li>\n
  • Use of hand tools, portable power tools and equipment<\/li>\n
  • Work safely and be aware of key health, safety, and welfare issues. Follow health & safety policy and procedures for using various tools, equipment and materials including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) where needed<\/li>\n
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment<\/li>\n
  • Move, handle and store resources, such as materials complying with relevant legislation & guidance<\/li>\n
  • Interpret and follow verbal and written work instructions from trade supervisors and managers<\/li>\n
  • Uphold high standards of craftsmanship and attention to detail<\/li>\n
  • May be asked to assist in other areas of the site (i.e. cleaning and general labouring)<\/li>\n
  • Opportunities to watch other trades. This is beneficial to learn the sequence of work on building projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
