Scout Adventures are recruiting for our UK Volunteer Trainee Instructor Programme, with September 2026 and January 2027 start dates. This 12-month residential programme has been designed for young adults looking to gain real industry experience, nationally recognised qualifications and a strong foundation for a career in the outdoor sector.

Participants live and work at one of our five UK outdoor adventure centres, developing their instructing, leadership and customer service skills while delivering adventurous activities to thousands of young people.

Programme highlights:

• 12-month residential placement
• September 2026 and January 2027 intakes
• Limited places available
• Accommodation, meals, uniform and weekly allowance provided
• Nationally recognised outdoor qualifications (ERCA High Ropes, Target Sports, Water Sports, Mountain Training, Outdoor First Aid and Health & Safety)
• Hundreds of hours of practical instructing experience
• Mentoring from experienced outdoor professionals
• Based at one of five centres: Broadstone Warren (East Sussex), Fordell Firs (near Edinburgh), Gilwell Park (London), Great Tower (Lake District) and Youlbury (Oxfordshire)
